Sri Petaling; It's Been A While..

Alhamdulillah, Allah landed me again in my beautiful and colurful country, MALAYSIA. after 2 years. fuhh. subhanaAllah, only Allah knows how nervous i was as the plane was getting closer to KLIA. it felt like i wanted to scream out loud right after i put my feet on the KL airport. spending more than 24 hours on the plane finally worth it.

i could tell how happy everyone was on the plane when we reached the arrival gateway.. " MALAYSIA, here i come"

but everyone there had their own destination, so did i. I thought i miss my hometown so much. after a few weeks spending time with family at Sabak Bernam and Kajang, i felt like i missed something. there was a place that i should have visited already. it was Masjid Sri Petaling.

Alhamdulillah, on the 1st week of my summer break, my dad invited me to go to Masjid Sri Petaling with him, amer sahb, and several other karkuns. we went in one car and a van. in total we had like 7-8 brothers. we had just one pit stop at KESAS highway R&R in order to perform asar solat. when we were there, we met another group going to the same destination. they were like 6 brothers from halqah Sungai Buloh. it was a beautiful moment as it seemed we knew each other very well. i was surprised at first but later i found out that Halqah Sungai Buloh is the 3 days route for BNO jamaahs. this is one of the significant of this effort. our brothers are from every part of the world.

we left BNO around 3 pm and reached Sri Petaling around 6.30 pm. unfortunately, we didn't stay over night  ( iktikaf) at the masjid. we went back to sabak bernam after isyak, around 10 pm. after some brothers finished with tafakut. i ended with buying an expensive kurta , kopiah, and attar oil. haha. my intention was not for that stuff but everytime i went there, i couldnt help myself from taking out some cash. ;)

on Friday night in the same week, i went to BNO Halqah mesyuarat and alhamdulillah i met other karkuns from each mahala. they were so happy when i greeted them. they even called me "american". one of the brother was Ustaz Ilyaz. he is still the same; a very down-to-earth islamic scholar who always treat me like his close friend. after he finished his islamic studies for 8 years at madrasah sri petaling, he went for one year-khuruj fi sabilillah before he became one of the active scholars in dakwah effort. i spent so much time with him. we even used to be roommates at madrasah. there was so much memories i had with him since he was not married yet.
