Would America Become An Islamic Country?

Everyone knows about USA or easier we call it america. Either its good or bad sides, America is definitely a famous country. in general, i would say that i used to think that america is not a good country for a muslim like me to stay as what we heard from the media a lot.

however, after 2 years i have spent my time in america, my thought has changed. america is not as bad as i used to think. i mean, regarding religious practicing. eventhough america is not a muslim country like malaysia, the american people, they do respect muslim people; as long as we pay respect towards them as well.

another thing that made me surprised was there are so many masjid are being built in america. no need to mention about how much churches they have coz again america is not a muslim country. most of muslims that are living in america are not american. they came from different part of the world; Yemen, Turki, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Libya, Egypt, etc and last but not least Malaysia.

probably back in the days, there were some blessed muslim brothers who came to america and start the effort on building the masajid, just like what Rasulullah did when he migrated to Baqa' and Madinah. building a masjid was his first priority and used it for spreading dakwah islamiyah. how lucky those people who are chosen to be part of that effort.

below are some pictures that i took nearby the city that i live, Rochester,NY,USA.

#this masjid is very special. it used to be a church and it was converted to masjid by yamani community in that city and now it becomes the biggest masjid in Rochester, NY.

Sri Petaling; It's Been A While..

Alhamdulillah, Allah landed me again in my beautiful and colurful country, MALAYSIA. after 2 years. fuhh. subhanaAllah, only Allah knows how nervous i was as the plane was getting closer to KLIA. it felt like i wanted to scream out loud right after i put my feet on the KL airport. spending more than 24 hours on the plane finally worth it.

i could tell how happy everyone was on the plane when we reached the arrival gateway.. " MALAYSIA, here i come"

but everyone there had their own destination, so did i. I thought i miss my hometown so much. after a few weeks spending time with family at Sabak Bernam and Kajang, i felt like i missed something. there was a place that i should have visited already. it was Masjid Sri Petaling.

Alhamdulillah, on the 1st week of my summer break, my dad invited me to go to Masjid Sri Petaling with him, amer sahb, and several other karkuns. we went in one car and a van. in total we had like 7-8 brothers. we had just one pit stop at KESAS highway R&R in order to perform asar solat. when we were there, we met another group going to the same destination. they were like 6 brothers from halqah Sungai Buloh. it was a beautiful moment as it seemed we knew each other very well. i was surprised at first but later i found out that Halqah Sungai Buloh is the 3 days route for BNO jamaahs. this is one of the significant of this effort. our brothers are from every part of the world.

we left BNO around 3 pm and reached Sri Petaling around 6.30 pm. unfortunately, we didn't stay over night  ( iktikaf) at the masjid. we went back to sabak bernam after isyak, around 10 pm. after some brothers finished with tafakut. i ended with buying an expensive kurta , kopiah, and attar oil. haha. my intention was not for that stuff but everytime i went there, i couldnt help myself from taking out some cash. ;)

on Friday night in the same week, i went to BNO Halqah mesyuarat and alhamdulillah i met other karkuns from each mahala. they were so happy when i greeted them. they even called me "american". one of the brother was Ustaz Ilyaz. he is still the same; a very down-to-earth islamic scholar who always treat me like his close friend. after he finished his islamic studies for 8 years at madrasah sri petaling, he went for one year-khuruj fi sabilillah before he became one of the active scholars in dakwah effort. i spent so much time with him. we even used to be roommates at madrasah. there was so much memories i had with him since he was not married yet.
